One of the great things about living in Davenport, Iowa is that we have world-class museums. Our art museum, The Figge, is a vibrant and alive institution that not only houses great works of art, but offers classes and lectures. Also, we have the fantastic Putnam Museum. Along with its IMAX-like movie theater (biggest in the area) it offers everything you would imagine a history museum would offer…and more. No matter if your interest is in mummies, dinosaurs, life on the Mississippi or, well, you name it. The Putnam has it. I did mention it has an IMAX-like movie theater? It was originally an IMAX and now it is a National Geographic Giant Screen. Same size, same booming sound system. It plays everything from The Avengers, The Dark Knight Rises, the new Bourne movie to a host of documentaries. Most in 3D. Oh yes, as in this cartoon, there is a life-size T-Rex audio-animatron at the entrance. It moves and roars as do the other dinos inside the building.
