There really was a Semri Drive In Theater. I worked there in my high school years. (’66-69). Ahhh, the dive in. Where you can take your date, stay in the privacy of the front seat of your car until after midnight and it was all respectable. It is long gone but I will leave it up to your imagination what happened in that front seat.
Hmmm, there was more room in the back seat. Semri, Memri, Belair . . those were the days!
AND the Oasis. Used to go to them all. Sometimes they all had the same movie(s) and others, different ones. Where exactly was the Semri? I can’t remember – - -
Mini…the Semri was in Silvis, IL. On 10th Street just down from Ilini Hosp. There was one other other drive In in the Quad Cities besides the ones you mentioned… Corral in Coal Valley. Always a place to go on a Friday night.
